Sharing The Word of God

Why do we exist? Simply stated, we desire to follow Jesus and serve the city of Carson and it surrounding areas.

Following Jesus

First Lutheran Church of Carson, ECLA believes that following Jesus is no simple “formula,” and actually quite often it makes life more complex. For us, Jesus is no self-help guide to a better life; rather Jesus gives hope and purpose in the midst of mystery. All of our following is done through faith – the gift of trusting in the death and resurrection of Jesus that has the power to set the captives free, heal the brokenhearted, and offer the forgiveness of sin.

Serving the City

First Lutheran Church of Carson, ECLA believes that God’s grace and forgiveness equips us to serve others, and by doing so we reflect the character of God. Because of this core value, our vision is bigger than our congregation. We find that as God fills us up as a community with faith, hope, and love, we are propelled into our schools, workplaces, homes, and neighborhood to love and serve others. Carson  is a neighborhood with no shortage of need for compassion, justice, and mercy. Our belief is that the gospel community is created for great things such as these.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. — Ephesians 2:10

First Lutheran Church of Carson is working together to change the nation through a network of church leaders, national gatherings, training events and resources. Giving God all the glory he deserves.

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE

WE ARE A COMMUNITY OF ORDINARY PEOPLE WALKING TOGETHER WITH GOD,
TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND SERVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD,
FOLLOWING IN THE WAY OF JESUS.

We are here to offer both shelter from the storm and food for the road ahead. We are here to challenge, inspire, encourage, and comfort one another. We are here to experience the mystery of God at work in our world, in our community, and in our own lives. We are here to see the face of God in everyone, welcoming all people to claim their place at God’s table. We are here to give freely of what we have received, to live grateful and generous lives, and to give glory to God in all things.

Life is not a journey meant to be taken alone. We’d love to walk with you.
